Candy! What is there not to love about candy?
With each new project comes the excitement of possibility. Whatever it is we are photographing: food packaging, advertising, editorial or product shots, each new shoot begins the same way.
It begins with the creative brief, the Client’s guidelines, their vision, and tone. It’s our mission to translate that to the imagery, to shape and bring the subject to life in the best way possible.
As a reader, you may be thinking, “Sure, candy is great. But, in the end, it is just candy. Why the excitement?”
Great question! No matter what it is I am shooting at any given time, my passion for the art is always present on each and every project. The ‘buzz’ is in the planning, it’s in the detail, it’s in the process of translating the creative brief to the imagery.
Now, back to the candy! Our client, Lolli and Pops, had a little makeover and redesign of their website and rebranding and therefore were interested in updating their imagery; that’s where we came in. Again, we were thrilled to be given this opportunity to collaborate and work with the team at Lolli and Pops.
This image is a particular favorite of mine, as I loved the concept of making candy shaped models out of this mint colored paper; combined with their simple, yet striking packaging. Rae Nicoletti the Props Stylist did such a great job building the models and styling this image. With the desired results achieved, our client was thrilled, therefore leaving us equally so. That’s the ‘Buzz’ and maybe I admit a little sugar rush!
